Duties of a Precinct Chair

• Serve on County Executive Committee (per Plan of Organization)
• Serve as the Republican Party’s liaison in precinct
• Hold Precinct Meetings
• Recruit & train precinct volunteers
• Identify and register Republicans in your precinct
• Recruit judges, poll-workers and observers
– Be familiar with HAVA (ballot security on election day)
• Voter canvassing and voter registration
• Recruit volunteers to hand out literature at the polls
• Organize volunteers to get voters to the polls on Election Day
• Assist at headquarters
• Take Voter Vault training for access to registration files

• Database of Registered Voters
• Can identify households
• Useful for finding people in groups (NRA, church affiliation, pro-life, etc. (caution – not always accurate)
• Used to create Call lists
• Used to create Walking lists
• Organized and maintained by the Republican National Committee
• Need to be trained by a certified Trainer to be able to access
